Mother of pearl 3-hole button

More info

Mother of pearl 3-hole button

This product features genuine mother-of-pearl buttons – a detail that even many premium manufacturers have long since abandoned. Our buttons are crafted from the Trochus shell, a by-product of the food industry: the shells are harvested for their meat, which is sold for human consumption, whilst the empty shells are repurposed for the production of our buttons – a choice that is as refined as it is responsible. Characteristic of van Laack are the three button holes – an understatement statement. Those who know, will recognise it. Those who don't, won't. That's exactly the point.

Genuine mother-of-pearl – a mark of quality that is unmistakable at first glance.
Three holes instead of loud logos – an understatement statement for true connoisseurs.
Sustainably sourced – repurposed as a by-product of the food industry from the Trochus shell.

Handcrafted in own Manufactory

We make this shirt in our own production facility – and that makes all the difference. Almost every step is done by hand: each seam is guided by hand through the machine, and every detail remains our responsibility, from cutting to final inspection. Because we take the time this requires, the result is a shirt you will wear for years to come. We have lived by this philosophy since 1881.

Almost twice the sewing time of a standard business shirt* – because care takes time, and we take that time.
Around 90 production steps – no compromises, because every step is in our hands.
Inspected after every sewing operation – not just at the end, but after each individual step at the machine.

* Comparison: standard time for a men’s business shirt according to Online Clothing Study (2011).
